Great upgrade, and actually washes dishes May 8, 2014

I was a little hesitant to purchase this dishwasher as a replacement for our 13 year old KitchenAid (which worked well for about 1/2 its life) because of a negative review I read here and one or two elsewhere, but we're glad we took the chance. We purchased through a big box store. This model does a fine job at doing what we purchased it to do....wash and dry dishes. Some reviews stated that because this dishwasher lacks a drying element, it doesn't completely dry the dishes. In the month we've been using it, we run it once per day - at bedtime. The next morning, there is very little moisture left behind - less than our old dishwasher which had a heating element. We were told by a dealer to ensure we are using a rinse agent such as JetDry which would help ensure there's no water left behind. This has worked well so far, even on plastic.

The only con I can think of aside from the fact that it's expensive, is that it takes 2.5 hours to run what I consider to be a full cycle...normal wash, sanitize option, but since there's plenty of room in this dishwasher and the racks are built in such a way as to maximize space, we only have to run it once per day, and we don't care about the cycle time while we're sleeping. Other options give a shorter wash but we haven't bothered trying them.

Install: Very easy. It even came with a fill hose, which we weren't expecting as many dishwashers do not. Also came with drain hose and junction box for electrical and all mounting hardware.

Display: Very useful and easy to read. When running it shows cycle time remaining and displays "Clean" when finished. Also has a low rinse agent warning. Buttons are easy to use and understand. Instructions explain it all well.
